Texas and Pioneers

Texans are just beginning to realise that they’ve got a history!

So much has got lost or forgotten. We’ve been taking a close look at the German (or Prussian) immigrants to Texas in the early 1800’s and their communities.

As they generally used German as their everyday language, much of the literature and stories were written in their mother tongue. As we discover those stories and records, we’ve been translating them into English because most of today’s Texans can’t read German anymore.
